Do you remember when you were young and you would gaze up at the night sky? When you would imagine that you were an astronaut that would embark on breathtaking adventures in your spaceship? Well, now those dreams can become a reality with Starmade, a fantastic take on space travel and creation.
Starmade is an open world sandbox game with only one limit, your imagination. You can play by yourself or online with other space travelers across all platforms. You start off with just enough supplies to create a small ship and from there are left explore the universe. The initial supplies are enough to get you familiar with the building and crafting mechanics, but the most important objective is mining mine ore and elements. You can use these resources to make more components and craft upgrades to your ship or you can sell them.
You’re not alone in Starmade space. There is always the threat of other players and pirates who like to kill and loot for sport! So be prepared and arm your ship with any of the multitude of weapons, from a damage beam to missiles. There is also an arsenal of weapons to use while you’re exploring on foot that include a sniper, a rocket launcher and a trusty pistol. My personal favorite thing to do is to find a small group of fellow space explorers and build a ship for us. Once we load up into our newly crafted vessel, we then set out into space to raid other players. This game really is a blast; I highly recommend it.
Starmade is currently in early access so, if you decide to try it, understand that you may run into the occasional bug. Despite that, it’s a great game. I can’t wait to check out what the developers have in store for us down the road. Until then, I hope to see you in the cosmos!
